Josh Barnett talks about Shayna Baszler
By Zach Arnold | April 11, 2008
Before Shayna made her way to cage last night we had game plan, worked on concepts and strategies and all were on the same page. But when her entrance music kicked in everything seemed to go out the window and like subjects for which her song was inspired and named for, the World Eaters Legion, she seemed to be in a state of near uncontrollable bloodlust. I remember giving her instruction during the fight and seeing the berserker look in her eyes and knowing that there would be little to stop her from going right for the kill. I couldn’t be happier.
I think last night Shayna sent a big message to all who watch EliteXC and ShoXC that there will be no one to stand in front of her when her reign of blood starts. She wants that rematch with Tara to show that she isn’t the fighter Tara met in Bodog anymore. She wants to topple Gina from the favored spot in the limelight but mostly she just wants to revel in the carnage. Believe it.
