K-1 PREMIUM 2005 Dynamite! New Additions!

By Adam Underhill | December 25, 2005

Print Friendly and PDF

With only five days to go until the big MMA New Years Eve shows on 12/31, K-1 have suprised everyone with the addition of Japanese kickboxer Masato to the K-1 fight card. He will be facing off against Japanese boxing champion Akira Oohigashi. Masato was set for a return to K-1 early next year after recovering from an injury, but obviously seems to be cleared to fight this coming Saturday night.

Pro-wrestling star of ZERO-ONE fame The Predator is also scheduled to appear on the K-1 card but as of yet has no opponent booked for him. Japanese star Shungo Oyama has been booked against “The Lumberjack” Peter Aerts in Aerts’ second mixed martial arts fight. Yoshihiro Nakao also takes on American Heath Herring, in Herring’s return fight after being out with a knee injury for almost a year.

Royce Gracie will take on Hideo Tokoro in a HEROs Special Rules fight, after Yoshihiro Akiyama pulled out of his fight due to a back injury while training. There has been no word in Japan as to how long Akiyama will be out for.
