Sherdog reports word leaking from CroCop’s camp that he is coming to the UFC… about time!

  2. JEFF says:

Crocop’s camp, and himself, always had a history of saying stuff to the media and “leaking” information just keep the rumor mill going and playing the media leverage game when it comes to renegotiation with PRIDE. Until we hear official confirmation or a press release from both the UFC/Dana AND Mirko himself, we won’t know for 100%.

Personally, I feel he will end up in the UFC.

  3. GassedOut says:

I think Dana White’s smirk while he said “I can’t confirm or deny that rumour” basically gave us all the information we need. 😉

  4. Xenos says:

“I think Dana White’s smirk while he said “I can’t confirm or deny that rumour” basically gave us all the information we need.”

When did he say this? Is there video?

  5. iain says:

no one is pumped up for china’s national team!?

tank abott leading the red white and blue to victory!

  6. JEFF says:

Dana is full of crap half the time too.

  7. JOSH says:

Agreed. Again I think mirko is doign this all as leverage to see if PRIDE will make a last ditch effort to throw money at Mirko.

  8. TorontoMike says:

    From Nokaut.com’s Crocop forum:

“Crocop’s manager Zvonimir Luchic said that the statements about Mirko signing for UFC are false. He said that the only reason why Mirko will skip Pride Shockwave is his recovery after operation. Regarding Crocop’s decision where he will countinue his career, Luchic said that they are waiting for better offer from Pride, and that the final decision will be in January 2007.”

  9. TorontoMike says:

    From Fightsport.com:

“Hello my friends, my postal connections in both the DSE/PRIDE organization and Croatia are telling me that DSE/PRIDE is currently in advanced negotiations with the management of Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ Filipovic, and that they are about to make a very substantial offer to Cro Cop that both parties feel will see him remain with the PRIDE promotion.

The offer is supposedly going to be worth more then USD$2.5 million per fight. Both parties expect to have the contract signed this week, and the announcement will supposedly be officially made on PRIDE’s December 31st card.”

  10. Zach Arnold says:

Lots of readers on the site from Ontario, Canada these days. I wish I could increase the number of hits from places like the UK and Australia, but doesn’t seem to be the case so far.

  11. TorontoMike says:

We love our MMA up here. Now if only Dana would do us a solid and help get MMA sanctioned in Ontario.

  12. JOSH says:

    See told u guys…all a ploy.

  13. Lynchman says:

You have to love FightSport. If it is true that they are going to offer Mirko over 2.5 million per fight, we should see them out of business before the end of 2007.
Their payrole alone would be exceeding the average Pride gate. That would also likely mean that Fedor is going to be offered more than that. Pride would be losing money with every show.

But then we know that Fight Sport would never post anything remotely positive regarding the UFC.

Fightsport also has posted that Fedor signed a two year deal with Pride, saying that Fedor announced it on his website. Yet I could not find a single thing that suggested that any deal was in place.
