  1. Jeff says:

The Strikeforce undercard will be broadcast live on HDNet, so they are not dark matches.

  2. 45 Huddle says:

I’m impressed with how Zuffa is handling Strikeforce’s roster. They are putting on meaningful fights that at least let us gauge how a lot of their talent is. Well, that is for the Championship level cards. Most of the Challenger cards still look bad.

As for DREAM…. Wow a lot of meaningless fights.

    • Jonathan says:

      45 Huddle,

We all know that the UFC is king. I admit that. If it doesn’t happen in the UFC, it doesn’t matter. We both know that and realize that.

With that being the case, the card that DREAM is putting on is a card. It is JMMA…so it does not matter…but why do you have to trash on it? It just seems like you are taking advantage by trashing them..kind of like kicking a horse when they are down.

Also, you praise the Strikeforce match-making, but weren’t alot of these fights set up before….I mean, what you are seeing here is not that different from what you were seeing before. It just seems that since Zuffa bought them, you are not going to criticize it. But if pre-Zuffa Strikeforce had put that exact same card on, you would have trashed it.

I’m on your side here, but I have to call them how I see them.

      • Chuck says:

Actually most of the SF cards were made after the Zuffa buy-out. Before the buyout the card on Saturday only had the Overeem/Werdum and the Barnett/Rogers fights set up. And Gina Carano’s comeback (but no opponent).

  3. sam says:

Any updates on the K1 deadbeat promoter situation??

It would seem that since they are going along with these Dream events, those who are owed money might be getting a little ticked off.. They should demand interest on their purses!

On another note.. are they going to test Barnett again on fight night? I hope so.

  4. jack says:

What a surprise 45huddle is now impressed with strikeforce’s matchmaking under Zuffa.

I bet if these same matchups were under the old strikeforce management he would have trashed them. What a phony this guy is.

    • edub says:

Jonathon, I think we found your replacement.

      • Jonathan says:

        Edub,

What do you think about what 45 Huddle said? Do you see any duality in what he said?

        • edub says:

I do. However, whenever anybody goes on a tirade on 45 they continually forget the times where he’s actually called Zuffa out for bad matchmaking and procedures. But I do.

More of what I was making light of was over the last couple of days, jack has disagreed (fairly at times) with pretty much every post 45 put down. And you haven’t done that in a while.

  5. RossenSearchTeam says:

    Brett is burnt!

    Just ridiculous.

I dont think Zuffa could have done much worse for a match-up.

(Maybe that was very purposely to encourage barnett to show up clean.)

    Werdum out-strikes over-rated.

Everything else is the usual obvious SF (fun) junk.

    • Chuck says:

Zuffa didn’t set up Barnett/Rogers. That fight (along with the rest of the regular tournament fights) were set up by SF (Probably Coker and Rich Chou).

Yeah Rogers looked like a bum. Josh Barnett looked fine. I think he will win the tournament. Overeem/Werdum was NOT a good fight. Huge disappointment. I had it 29-28 Overeem (last round to Werdum. He almost won the first round, but Overeem took it late). I see Antonio Silva beating Overeem. I’m definitely looking forward to Sergei Kharitonov vs. Josh Barnett. Barnett takes it though.

Most pathetic performance easily goes to Valentijn Overeem. How the HELL do you not know how to protect yourself from grounded punches after having 55 professional MMA matches? Fight of the night easily goes to Jorge Masvidal vs. KJ Noons. Great scrap, but really one-sided otherwise. KJ Noons is damn tough boy…
