  1. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

I think Misaki may be working to bring himself to Zuffa’s attention. This is the first time he’s fought for a non-Japanese promotion (though he did fight in Vegas for Pride).

He’s on a three win roll, and if he gets another win or two in Strikeforce, he could be getting a phone call from Joe Silva or Scott Adams, especially if he manages to finish another one of those fights.

  2. IceMuncher says:

I hope so. Anderson Silva looks like he’s going to wipe out the entire division with just a few more fights, so it’d be really nice to sign some outside talent to challenge him (so to speak).

  3. 45 Huddle says:

The video feed from Sherdog was really good. It couldn’t have been cheap.

The fights weren’t so good. Too many one sided fights. The talent level just isn’t there for Strikeforce beyond their 6 or 7 top fighters.

  4. Ultimo Santa says:

Joe Riggs pulled a Ken Shamrock (ie. getting knocked silly by a hard punch, turtling up on the ground, and then bitching when the ref stops the fight) which was actually no surprise.

Mitsuhiro Ishida and Josh Thompson both looked sharp as hell.

I agree – the overall fight quality was not that great, and the commentary left something to be desired.

What was the attendance there – 12? It was a very small crowd.

  5. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

It’s a very small venue. I seem to recall the attendance being very low the last time they did it. One of the major podcasts had an interview with someone who fought on the last card where they mentioned the atmosphere.

  6. robert joyner says:

the first card they did they capped tickets at 1000 folks (@ $1000 per)….this card was even less than that…3 to 400 ticks if i remember correctly…so they aren’t going in with the idea of selling lots of tickets… they are doing the mansion shows for visibility/marketability than more than anything else

  7. zack says:

    The Ishida finish was slick.

  8. Dave says:

I don’t get complaining about the quality of the fights. This show was a ‘builder’ show to showcase their stars for the fans and the media. This was to showcase Ishida, Thomson, Misaki, etc., to build to future money fights for them.
