    THANK YOU D.!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God I am not the only one who isn’t crazy! Oh, and in wrestling you have to shave too. Actually you pretty much have to be clean-cut. And you can’t even have sideburns that go lower than your earlobes. Different reasons than in boxing (wrestlers giving other wrestlers brushburns) but still.

    Can it be that the thought that beards are cushions for punches is an archaic idea carried over from a less informed time? I mean if someone had some sort of scientific proof to back up this claim rather than saying that a bunch of “boxing ‘experts'” believe so I could budge on this topic.

    That could be true. But there has to be SOME merit to it. Now having a beard doesn’t mean that you won’t get knocked on your ass if you get hit by a good shot on the chin, but I am sure a beard can help somewhat. Maybe only a LITTLE bit. I think I will have to look around for articles on facial hair in boxing. There has to be stuff on this issue, considering that it has been an issue in the past.
