Cage fighting Championship CFC is proud to announce that current Middleweight Champion Hector “Shango” Lombard has signed with Elite XC and will be fighting in the U.S. after his Title defence against Fabiano Capoani of Brazilian Top Team on CFC #4 May 23rd 2008 at Luna Park’s Big Top Stadium.
This is exciting news for Hector and Australia as our most exciting fighter will be on show to millions through a new deal that will have CBS televising Elite XC shows, the contract which also allows Hector to continue fighting for CFC is great news for his Aussie fans and CFC fans.
Cage Fighting Championship Director Luke Pezzutti said “I am very excited for Hector as I believe he is destined to be our most successful export and I see him fighting for Elite XC title very soon. I am also excited that Elite XC have agreed to work with CFC to give our other fighters international opponents and possible opportunities to fight overseas”.

great get for EliteXC, provided his visa problems are a thing of the past.
Australia has probably naturalized Lombard as a citizen, which will make it possible for Lombard to get a passport into the states.
Visa problems = dropped from the UFC?
Yeah that’s why Chonan stepped up to face Parisyan, there was immigration issues.
The guy is Cuban, isn’t he? Either way, he’s an exciting fighter and he could do well in EliteXC.
well, I mean, having a guy under contract that can’t fight for you is a pretty good reason to void the deal.
speaking of, I wonder what countries Aleksander Emelianenko can actually gain entry to…Japan (though I assume that has more than a little to do with yakuza ties) and Canada are two…certainly not America, though.
Uh oh! Is Pro Elite gonna buy out another MMA fed?
