Solidarity, brother:

CRANSTON, R.I.—Twenty prison inmates have been disciplined for participating in “ultimate fighting” contest after claiming they were gathering in a dorm room to play chess, according to a published report Saturday.

Instead of playing chess, the inmates were pummeling each other in an “ultimate fighting” contest, emulating professional tournaments that have a loyal television following, The Providence Journal reported.

    What does our bureaucratic government care if some “thugs” are fighting in prison… After all, the place was designed for scum to rot away, that is the social purpose of prison, along with spending tax money.

    Well, that’s going to help the sport of MMA in my home state of RI. A pretty strange state to begin with, but I digress :D.

    Nice, the ACI is about 10 minutes from my house. Maybe I should contact the corrections department and see if I can cover these fights for MMA HQ.

    Didn’t know there were so many from RI on here. I usually watch UFC fights as well as Celtics and Sox games at Picassos in Warwick. Anyone else?
