  1. PizzaChef says:

According to Puroresufan…Mirko didn’t dress up in a Hard Gay costume and didn’t dry hump a Fedor cutout like I hoped he would. πŸ™

  2. PizzaChef says:

Notes: HOLY SHIT! The “c’mon baby!” song even though it’s at introductions for staff. And Fumihiko Tachiki voice over!
MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR!!! WOAH. K-1, DEEP, SHOOTO and other group logos….AHHHHHHH!!!!!! TAKADA! WE ARE BACK!!!!!!!!

  3. Honestly, the production and intro was unbelievable. Lenni Hardt announcing the fighters, everything had the feel of PRIDE, and it’s awesome.

  4. PizzaChef says:

Only if they used the PRIDE theme. πŸ™

    Ha, FUCK DANA.

  5. Ryan says:

I’m watching a stream that appears to be a moment or so behind the Sherdog.com results. Hooray?

  6. Zack says:

    Bummer about Zentsov.

  7. Russow overpowered him. Good win for Russow.

  8. PizzaChef says:

I want Kawajiri to lose now, soley for wearing a Manchester United jacket.

  9. Zack says:

Dana posted on the UG @ 3am PST…we’re not the only ones pulling an all nighter.

  10. Zach Arnold says:

You wouldn’t be insinuating that Dana is a liar when he says he doesn’t watch other MMA, now would you? πŸ™‚

  11. Yeah, the guy who called him out is touting it on our chat right now. Phil Baroni also asked for the stream on the Yarennoka thread, people go crazy over some dumb crap.

  12. PizzaChef says:

People are saying they should lure Baroni to the chatroom lol

  13. Ishida wins, great fight, a must see. Ishida’s wrestling was sick.

  14. PizzaChef says:

LOL. Akiyama getting booed like Earl Hebner in Canada. Plus the Olay light rave seizure thing “OLAY EVILLLLL” lol.

  15. PizzaChef says:

HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT A FIGHT AND FINISH!! MIZAKI IS A HERO! GIVE ME HIS ENTRANCE THEME NAO!!!1111111

  16. Zack says:

Great night of fights. I wish I could’ve seen the K-1 event too.

  17. Watching K-1 right now, looking good so far, nothing unbelievable yet.

  18. D says:

Hey Zach, I don’t think Misaki is a nobody anymore.

  19. Zach Arnold says:

Hey Zach, I don’t think Misaki is a nobody anymore.

Unless K-1 decides to ink him to a deal, he won’t be that notable in the Japanese MMA landscape. Nice win, though.

All the heat in that match was from the crowd hating Akiyama. Other than Akiyama losing, K-1 basically got what they wanted out that deal with DSE. If they sign Misaki and push him after his vanquishing of the heel, then it’s an even sweeter deal for them.

  20. D says:

Misaki has actually had a page on the K-1 website for a while, with a photo copyrighted by FEG, a photo that was never on the PRIDE site or the Yarennoka site.

Kang kept saying he’d heard rumours that he was signing too. I think it’ll happen if it hasn’t already, although I’d prefer he improved his defensive wrestling and moved to 170 like he planned on doing.

  21. liger05 says:

Kazuo Misaki vs Yoshihiro Akiyama was a great fight. brilliant finish!

I also enjoyed Fedor Emelianenko vs Choi Hong-Man. πŸ™‚

  22. If Akiyama had taken full advantage of the knockdown he should have ended it. Misaki was folded like chair.

  23. ilostmydog says:

Yeah, but it’s debatable as to whether Akiyama could have finished him anyways. I love Aki, but Misaki is a complete dog. He’s impossible to finish. Hendo hit him with a flush overhand right and didn’t finish him. He’s a bad man.

  24. cyphron says:

HMC has no submission defense whatsoever. The first time he laid on top of Fedor, he got arm barred but got out of it. Then the second time he was in the exact same position, he gave Fedor his arm again in the exact same way.

If they wanted to show skill over size, they sure got that in this match.

  25. Tomer Chen says:

I wonder who M-1 will throw at Fedor next. There’s really only one noteworthy opponent for him out there at the moment (Josh Barnett), but somehow I doubt they’ll try to set up that fight. Will he only be fighting on 12/31 now? He used to fight 3-4 times a year…

  26. Zack says:

I’m hoping Arlovski wont re-sign with the UFC so we have potential matchups with Barnett & Arlovski on the horizon.

Does anyone know the name of the song Akiyama came out to?

  27. Mike David (Euthyphro) says:

Akiyama comes out to “Time to Say Goodbye”

    http://8bit.tistory.com/275

P.S. Has anyone seen video of Cro Cop’s run-in?

  28. John Griffin says:

Video of crocop run in would be much appreciated!

  29. Zack says:

Is this the Cro Cop vid you’re talking about?

    http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=YlB4E61cukI

  30. Tomer,

I suspect M-1 will nab Antonio Silva and throw him at Fedor, since I don’t believe he’s under obligation to any promoter right now.

  31. The Gaijin says:

He (A. Silva) recently signed a long term deal with EliteXC iirc.
