“The Agencia Estado news service quoted Gracie’s physician Sabino Ferreira de Farias as saying that, at the time of his arrest, the fighter was taking antidepressants and anti-psychotic medication.

Globo TV said Farias tested Gracie’s urine shortly after his arrest and found traces of cocaine, crack and marijuana. Bittencourt would not comment on the unconfirmed reports, and Farias could not be contacted at his drug rehabilitation clinic.”

We have already tracked down Wallid Ismail in Brazil to for Fight Opinion Radio listeners on the details. For many years, Wallid was Ryan’s sworn enemy and they had a number of encounters in streets that culminated with Wallid choking Ryan unconscious.

The two buried the hatch recently, and in the next edition of Fight Opinion Radio Wallid will fill us all in on the details coming out of Brazil.

Ryan struggled a lot to come to terms with himself, but was a great martial artist nonetheless. He will certainly be missed and may he rest in peace and deepest condolances to all of the Gracie family.
