By Zach Arnold | May 21, 2007

Kimbo Slice gets more big press in Miami, this time with CBS 4 in a piece called Backyard fighter goes legit at South Florida gym. Luke Thomas has a defense of Kimbo Slice in MMA.

Gryphon has some very interesting site updates today. Read them all. The headline that will grab attention is the TUF one, but the more important one involves Dana White’s views on agents in MMA.

That Kimbo video is too funny. Unless he’s got some secret submission grappling skills, I don’t see him having much of a chance punching with Ray Mercer!?! Let’s see — beat up some jabroni in your backyard, or square off with a veteran heavyweight prize fighter? I gotta say, though, I’m interested. LOL
LoL Kimbo knocking the dread off that dude.
Will Kimbo be allowed to use the “Kimbo death tackle” in the mercer match. I don’t think Mercer can withstand that!
I have money enough to buy 1 of the upcoming UFC PPV’s in the coming 4 or 5 months. I was thinking July 7th’s UFC 73 was the one I wanted. I’m looking for the best top to bottom card, not just a good headliner fight (UFC 71). I’m curious what others think. If you had a choice, which UFC would you buy and why 71, 72, 73, or wait for one later in the year?
Definitely get UFC 73 “Stacked”, as it has two big title matches, Rashad-Tito, and Big Nog’s debut against Heath Herring.
Jeff, you have money for only one UFC PPV in the next 5 months? Dude…you need a better job. Send me your CV and I can help you punch it up a little. 🙂
With the UFC: Victory card from N.Ireland being a freaking joke, I would agree with BigC and say for sure go with UFC 73, which looks half-decent.
Marquart’s title match seems kind of ‘out of the blue’, but the Middleweight division isn’t exactly stacked with stars right now so I guess he’s as good an opponent as any.
Shogun is likely on UFC 72, so depending on his opponent, you might consider that strongly.

I’m holding out til UFC 73.
I personally think this UFC 71 card is stacked.
I am especially looking forward to the Parisyan / Burkman fight and the Starnes / Leben fight should be an interesting bout within itself.
Tito vs. Rashad at UFC 73 is only entertaining in the sense of who gets mount first and starts the GNP. Tito isn’t that entertaining of a fighter when he isn’t the clear-cut favorite.
A.Silva vs Marquardt is a bit premature IMHO for Marquardt and it will be a lot more lopsided than ppl think.

Marquart will beat Silva. He’s far from a rookie.
Shogun Rua has just been signed by the UFC and will probably be added to the UFC72 lineup. I guess we’ll wait to see who he’s fighting, but if it’s against Babalu Sobral (which it should be, since Sobral was the last guy to beat him) then that’s an epic bout that will definately help the card
Really good article on the untold story of Quinton “Rampage Jackson”. Do yourself a favor and check it out, really good stuff.
Someone posted this on the TUF Forum. Apparently Reudiger has been released from his UFC contract. Maybe the K1-Gabe rumors were true.
