We know many of you visit this site while you are at work. Therefore, if you missed out on any site updates this past week, consider this your week-in-review (along with a news item or two). We even have been getting donations from readers to our site. You can, too. Gain a warm and fuzzy feeling in your heart. Just don’t mistake it for heartburn.
- Gryphon says that Universal Studios has inked a deal with PRIDE for DVD distribution. For historical purposes, keep this story in your mind (along with the Ed Fishman developments). Then read the Forbes article on why PRIDE is in this situation in the first place. You stay classy, Universal. PRIDE is getting ready to hit Las Vegas.
- This week we made Erin pay her dues for being on FOR by putting her through the same rigorous test that women on the Octagon Girl Search had to go through. Lucky for Erin, she is liked by many people and we got fan mail from listeners all over the world for the show, including one from Sweden. OK, so unfortunately it wasn’t from the Swedish Bikini Team (who aren’t really Swedish), but we love you Sweden.
- I did a recap of the latest Ultimate Fighter Tv show and got heat for it because “the babe” didn’t do it. Thanks for the support, pal. At least I’m not boxing Erin on PPV. And we’re not actors, because Dana White says NO ACTORS ALLOWED. Here is how much Dana pays his employees these days. Try paying a boxer $9,000 USD to work the semi-main event of a PPV. See how that goes.
- I remember a few months ago when I predicted that Ken vs. Tito III would draw a 3.0 rating on Spike TV. I would like to officially back off of that claim after reading your responses on this upcoming fight. I am officially not perfect any more.

The message saying something bad about Erin got pulled? I thought this was Fight OPINION? I still like the show, someone just needs to force her to watch something other than UFC so she knows what she’s talking about.
I’ve stated before and I’ll state again – if you don’t post using valid information (such as a valid e-mail, a valid IP, etc.) then your message will be picked up by the spam filters.
As far as your criticism of her is concerned, that’s fine. However, she’ll pick up more about the business as she watches more and more footage. Her knowledge is pretty good, dare I say, especially considering how fast she has been able to network with fighters at local events.
Jeff Thaler and I have plenty of knowledge on promotions outside of UFC to discuss those topics. I’ll defend Erin being on the show because of what she brings to the table. I’m sorry if you don’t like it.
I’m also sorry if you think that the people who like her happen to be not related to her or members of her family.
You stay classy.
Actually, I do watch more than just UFC. I’ve watched UFC, PRIDE, IFL, IFC, Hook N Shoot, Xtreme Wars, WEC, KOTC, and more.
However, I will be the first to admit that I have been an MMA fan for a year and a half and I can’t tell you off the top of my head who Cro Cop’s first loss was to or exactly how many days Nog as been a fighter. Nor would I care to.
I am a fan and I like discussing my fandom. That’s all. I would think that between Zach and Jeff all technical aspects are covered.
But you are right, Nick, this is Fight Opion, which means we give opinions of things. If you need to have high knowledge of MMA to have an opinion on it, someone forgot to tell the majority of MMA message board posters that fact.
This place needs more Erin (pictures too, Zach make it happen 🙂 and more good comments. The reason I check in here is because this place stays under control and is not running wild with trolling like Sherdog or the underground.
You can actually browse the forum here without running the risk of only 1 of 50 threads having anything of value in it…, trolling is killing the forums everywhere, and an old saying goes something like this; If you don’t have anything nice to say about someone, it is better to not say anything at all.
Kepp up the good work
