Getting it done right

Childs Walker in the Baltimore Sun has a very extensive and accurately-written article about UFC, titled UFC Fighting To Be Ring Leader. Outside of the quotes from Jim Lampley and a man that I nicknamed The American Media’s MMA Boogeyman, it’s a very good mainstream media article on MMA. Check it out.

The word is finally getting out correctly. I even noticed a difference in some of the comments made by Lampley. Though he is still critical, he does give MMA more respect than he has in the past. The neurosurgeon who talked about the absurdity of the sport failed to mention that boxing is far worse on the brain than MMA. This looks like the first steps toward media accuracy when reporting on MMA; let’s hope it continues.
