PRIDE 7/1 Saitama card gets two new matches
By Zach Arnold | June 14, 2006

PRIDE announced Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Cyborg and Yoshiki Takahashi vs. Vitor Belfort as undercard matches for their 7/1 Saitama Super Arena show.
The promotion also announced the participation of Yoshihiro Nakao, who was made somewhat famous after his “kiss incident” with Heath Herring at the K-1 12/31/05 Osaka Dome show. Nakao is playing up that gimmick in the press.

And why not? With Vitor’s stellar performance at StrikeForce, he should certainly be competing on an even bigger stage.
So much for Vitor’s excuse of him tearing a hamstring as the reason he kept on going right to his back at the strick force show.
Man, Vitor just needs to retire. I don’t see the point of him going to fight in Japan just to face off against some of their mid-level fighters. Vitor either needs to wake up and get his MMA game in shape, or hang up the gloves for good.
Finally, a tune-up fight for Vitor. If by some chance he loses, retirement will be looming.
