Bad news for Shogun

Full Contact Fighter reports that medical tests reveal that Mauricio “Shogun” Rua’s elbow is fractured, and all ligaments in the elbow are ruptured. He is out for an estimated six months.

    Sounds quite a bit more serious than anyone would have guessed before this point. Joint injuries are complicated and it will be a long-term test to see if Shogun can make a full recovery.

    6 months isn’t too bad. It coulda been much worse. It probably would have been the bulk of that before he’s fight again anyway.

    It’s 6 months before he can start training again, not fight. If he ends up needing surgery with metal plates, pins, screws, or staples, in additional to the reattachment of any ligaments; things well take alot longer.
