Update: The San Jose Mercury News claims that Arnold will travel to Ohio.
After receiving political heat for a scheduled appearance at the Gracie Fighting Championships show in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, Schwarzenegger has now cancelled the scheduled appearance. This conflicts with a Sacramento Bee newspaper story that Arnold is still headed to Ohio.
Quotes from the KGO story:
Prof. John Syer, Ph.D., Cal State Sacramento: “In terms of the California electorate, it makes a lot more sense for him to show respect for fallen peace officers, than it does for him to go to a barbaric fighting event.”
St. Sen. Jackie Speier, (D) San Mateo: “The fact that the sport continues to exist and is legal is one thing. But for him to be splattered on every poster as the endorser of it is, I think, horrific.”
