Valor Fighting: Showdown 2/3
By Erin | February 7, 2006

Last Friday, February 3rd a couple of friends and myself attended that Valor show out at Cache Creek Resort in Brooks, CA.
All in all, it was a pretty good show, especially for being a smaller show. I’d estimate the crowd at about 2,000, which is fairly decent considering the fact that there wasn’t any huge name fighters on the card and Brooks is pretty much in the middle of nowhere (think alien abduction territory).
The seating was a bit “eh” as all the seats were on the floor so it was hard to see the acton once it hit the ground, but Valor certainly did what they could with the space they had and I certainly could have gotten off my lazy butt and stood up in the back.
Results as follows:
Jason Childers vs Jose Pelacious
Winner: Pelacious via rearnaked choke
Philip Wyman vs Wes Welch
Winner: Wyman via arm bar
Ricky Bloom vs Matt Lindiger
Winner: Ricky Bloom via choke
Sam Spangler vs Adam McRae
Winner: Sam Spangler by unanimous decision
Taurus Cabbob vs Winnow Driscoll
Winner: Taurus Cabbob via whole lotta punches
Kengo Ura vs Jeff Dietrich
Winner: Kengo Ura via Kimura
Christian Wellisch vs Tom Howard
Winner: Christian Wellisch via rearnaked choke
Maverick Harvey vs John Dale
Winner: Maverick via ref stopage due to strikes
Dennis Hallman vs Ray Perales
Winner: Dennis Hallman via rear-naked choke
Also in attendance were Kimo and Predator along with the normal assortment of ring girls, annoucers and various press types.
All in all, I really did enjoy the show and I’m happy that there was a successful event within close driving distance. A more detailed and snarky review is up on my website: www.mma-snark.com
