The latest on New Year’s Eve

If you’re curious about the rumors regarding how business is going for both K-1 and PRIDE on their respective 12/31 shows, here’s the latest:

– There are plenty of tickets remaining for the PRIDE show (Ogawa vs. Yoshida). When I say plenty, I mean plenty – you can still get a ticket in any seating section in the building. Start this upcoming week, Fuji TV is going to do the “hard sell” with both men doing an enormous amount of media appearances. DSE is hoping for a strong walk-up.

– K-1 has a fair amount of tickets left for their 12/31 Osaka Dome show. Right now, given the current trend, it seems unlikely that they will achieve a sell-out. However, they should end up with a respectable house show gate. If they draw more than 35,000 to the show, consider it good.
