Transparently glaring

A few days ago, we linked to several newspaper articles in the Chronicle Herald newspaper (based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada). It was an article series on an upcoming MMA event being regulated by the local boxing commission. I noted that at least one of the articles (which was more or less an op-ed) was negative against the event taking place. The other two articles were written by Monty Mosher, who was doing “straight” reporting of the facts.
On Sunday, Mosher’s true feelings on the MMA show were revealed in the newspaper (almost as a side note). What is the point in hiding your true feelings on your reporting for at least four days? If you have an opinion to make, state it openly and promptly along with your “straight” reporting. I am not advocating a mixture of opinion and “straight” reporting, but one article in particular was more or less a mixture of both. Separate, but equal are good words to live by.
