The “you cannot trash a religion, a nation” edition of UFC 229 brutalized Disney Dana White

By Zach Arnold | October 7, 2018

Print Friendly and PDF

Dana White wasn’t speaking to me or you in his post-fight UFC 229 presser. The new Disney Dana was busy trying to say the right things to his new bosses at ESPN while throwing a few swear words to keep the street cred up.

And you better know that Dana isn’t a hypocrite when he says he could continue using footage of Conor McGregor attacking other fighters in a bus because, hey, “it’s part of the story.”

Energy is everything in combat sports. It’s a messy business. What’s old becomes new fast and what’s new becomes old even faster. Dana White is moldy, stale bread. He act is beyond tired. Even the sycophantic writers, including Kevin “please text me!” Iole last night, were pointing out Dana’s hypocrisy between the celebration of Conor Debauchery and condemnation of Khabib Khaos.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is as real as it gets. Disney Dana can’t control that in 2018.

Nurmagomedov had his fight purse frozen by the no-longer-special Nevada State Athletic Commission. Bob Bennett is a punching bag. FBI-level integrity for you. Now the cost for upkeep of that FBI-level integrity will be a massive confiscation of cash due to the Athletic Commission no longer being tethered to the state’s general fund.

And to top it all off, since Disney Dana made it a point that Governor Brian Sandoval is mad, Khabib is going to learn that it would be a shame to lose his visa and career… unless, of course, he decides to have a rematch in Las Vegas again.

UFC, at its genuine and deepest core, is crass. Derrick Lewis talking about hot balls and Joe Rogan saying “I understand.” Joe Rogan has supplanted Howard Stern for the career-making and career-killing interview. Ask Elon Musk.

Khabib railing against UFC’s exploitation of racism, religion, and nationalism was as great of a condemnation as it was a fart on America’s First Amendment. I loved the authenticity.

The greatest part of UFC 229 is that even the announcing team of Jon Anik, Joe Rogan, and Dominick Cruz scoffed at the idea of a rematch between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor being competitive. UFC had to leave that hard sell up to Michael Bisping, whose soliloquy on the toughness and integrity of American immigration policy was as close to an old-school 1980s Mid-South “daddy’s going to deport those evil Russians!” promo as you could get.

Khabib Nurmagomedov isn’t the Putin-communicating champion that the UFC deserves. He would have been an even-better fit in the classic Japanese MMA scene.

So did yo watch quintet 3?
Its sad that quintet, with its awesome assortment of legends and current top level mma fighters, was largely ignored for the screeching antics of McUFC.
Sakuraba’s Quintet’s ideology of respectful competition is the antithesis of the UFCs anything for money ideology courtesy of Ari and Dana.

  2. 45 Huddle says:

When you let your stars get away with horrible behavior time and time again…. this is what happens. Conor has punched refs, jumped into the stands, attacked buses, and more. And he is constantly allowed to do so. Khabib and his people stood up to it and rightfully so.

PT Barnum wishes he could have created a circus this dysfunctional….

    • Diaz's packed bowl says:

McTerrorist’s best move of the fight was managing to get taken down right by his whiskey logo in the first round.

What happened to the sport that I once loved?

    • 45 Huddle says:

No clue. But it is truly horrible. Things were always touch and go with Zuffa, but it at least somehow resembled a sport. With the new owners, they seem to not even carr about the integrity of the sport. They only care about making money. And Dana White has completely gone along for the ride.

I would say right now that the UFC is more corrupt than boxing and the titles mean even less.

My interest in the sport has been super lower lately. This has just completely killed my interest any further.

Go to the Underground…. I recently went there and there was a thread talking about how dead the place is and how most of the fans have left. The current fans dont even care about who deserves a title fight. They only care about who is the biggest draw.

But the ratings on TV show the UFC has gone in the wrong direction.

“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”

  4. Jonathan says:

Am I the only one that thinks that this might have all been pre-planned by all parties involved to hype a rematch?

    • Diaz's packed bowl says:

Probably. That would mean conors bus attack was also staged. But if conor won the fight that would mean khabibs team would be required to jump into the octagon to attack him, because theres no reason for conor to jump the fence and attack khabibs team after ko’ng a guy you have thoroughly insulted. Seems a little far fetched, but Ari was in the house looking like the evil zionist troublemaker he is, maybe he made a deal with someone on habibs team to attack conor.

Whats just sickening is JJ getting an immediate title shot.
And pitting 2 injured fighters against each other, shows Ari and Dana’s(how did 2 men with girls names end up running the ufc?!?) absolute disregard for fighter safety.
I have only watched a dozen or so ufc fights this year mainly due to Dana and ari’s increasing scumery, and the fact that theres not many respectful fighters I care to watch compete. I used to be interested in wmma back in the Tara larosa Carano days, but not now with the top fighter being a steroid cheat and too ugly to even watch, especially when all the girl seem to do is stand and bang badly. Sorry beaten up women is not my thing.

If it wasn’t quite obvious many years ago, its now a fact. iole is a paid (bad)liar for the ufc.

He states that Khabib is making it worse by questioning the ufcs hypocrisy or threatening to quit or backing his team mates, Iole never really makes it clear what he doesn’t agree with. And of course A-ole doesn’t mention the hypocrisy of the ufcs disgusting handling of the entire situation. He selectively ignores ones wrongdoing while magnifying another’s which instigated by the initial wrongdoer.

In the latest he actually lies several times in his pathetic attempt to help his Ufc bosses.

In it Iole states that JJ never did ped’s. Even though he was caught twice three time if you count is low t.
Iole also states that they reduced his 4 year sentence because they believed him, when in fact he was given a 4 year suspension and they reduced it because he snitched.
Absolutely no mention of the truth in that article.

Im done watching and following for a while, ufc is totally corrupt.

    • Diaz's packed bowl says:

Also stating JJ lost tens of millions of dollars. He didn’t lose that. He failed to earn that. Big difference, A-loe makes it sound like someone took that money from him. Maybe he was talking about the million dollar settlement to the pregnant woman he smashed into?

And the arbitrator? A-ole doesn’t really mention that the arbitrator was paid by Jones!
“Given McLaren’s reputation, that has to carry significant weight.”

Everyone ignores the fact the Turinabol and many other steroids metabolites will remain in the fat cells until those fat cells are used as energy by the body. At which point its released into the blood and becomes detectable.
Its a fact that USADA knows this!!
Jones was using steroids thats a fact.
For the USADA to bend over backwards to avoid saying that, and remember how they rushed Lesnar into competition after waiving their own rules, shows they are paid off.

Checked out my last weekly grind for a few months, boy what a bunch of psychos. The only one I clicked was DC just to see what the hell he was rambling about.
Other than sage Dc/Max GSP and DJ how can anyone like these UFC people!
At least we have some classy respectful artists in other orgs.
