Cruz vs. Johnson is going to be such a fast paced fight. I don’t see Johnson having a chance. He is a Flyweight. This will be the first time a UFC Belt isnt being defended on a number show. Interestling enough, the 2nd time will happen a month later on FOX.
The rest of the fight night is mildly interesting.
Super excited for UFC 136. Now that’s a great PPV card. Edgar & Florian will win the title fights. Florian will actually make it look easy….
I would have rather not seen Herman vs. Russow so soon.
Those guys both still have a lot of upside, and Silva is cancelling one out way too soon IMO.
They need to be throwing guys who still have potential against stalled outs like Kongo, Berry, Crocop, etc.
I dont get Silvas matchmaking sometimes.
It occasionally just looks like a personal whim.
I think its a good prospect vs. prospect fight (and frankly neither of them fit the prospect moniker). Russow was dominated by Duffe until he landed a prototypical “hail mary” punch. Herman just got into a toughman fight with Einemo, and outlasted him.
Herman is exciting, Russow is sometimes too. But neither looks like a future title contender.
“This will be the first time a UFC Belt isnt being defended on a number show.”
Frank Shamrock vs John Lober
Maurice Smith vs Randy Couture
It’s the first time a UFC title has been defended LIVE in the US, that was’nt on PPV though.
True, but those shows were still on UFC PPV and really considered part of the numbered series.
UFC on Versus is basically a UFC Fight Night on a different channel…. Which has never had a title fight on it.
The WEC 145 and 135 belts (in other words, the exact same titles) were contested plenty of times on Versus. It’s a relatively meaningless distinction, other than to point out that Cruz is still obviously a second class Champion within Zuffa despite their need for more PPV headliners.
It’s still a big distinction. The UFC Belts have always been treated as royalty. The WEC belts never were.
No pre or post game show on Versus for this show. Just an event and that is that.
Steven Seagal Reportedly Banned From Jon Jones’ Locker Room Before UFC 135 – I won’t hit the site, but that is the biggest buzz going in right now.
FO is so secondary now, all you do is quote people and when big stories break we have to talk about it in between 2 posts that really didn’t matter.

I hit Leland Roling’s site for sooo long and promoted it here but he finally got snatched up. This dude is the same, he’s the real deal. Well I guess that’s the point here with Zach giving him webspace on one of the biggest mma sites in the world.
Ed. — Pay my bills and I’ll dance like a puppet on a string for you.
Thats too bad for Kflo.
But its not like he’s losing to Melvin Guillard or something, he loses to the best. He’s basically in the same boat as Kos, Fitch, etc. Dana can stop breaking his eggs about it IMO, he’s got more attitude for Kflo then all the other shmo’s who cant beat the top guys either but haven’t been as good a spokesmen for the sport or as reliable in their careers as Kflo has. Dana seems to have a better disposition towards Pat Barry then Kenny.
