I thought this was one of the best fights of the year. Back and forth momentum – submission attempts/power shots – crowd reaction – great commentary from the Voice.

  2. Si says:

Absolutely brilliant fight – back-and-forth, goes everywhere, near finishes, and a nail-biting ending. Probably my pick of the year so far.

  3. The Gaijin says:

It’s too bad about the fragility of Santiago’s chin because he looks like he’s really rounding into areally improved and exciting fighter. I won’t fault him for getting KO’d by Leben, who has ferocious power, but getting put out by hammerfists or a 145lb fighter in Manvel G…his chin is always going to make him vulnerable and even in the Misaki fight, he doesn’t do a whole lot to protect himself in some wild exchanges.

Granted you’ve got to take it all with a grain of salt given that a lot of guys look like world beaters outside the UFC, but he’s got some pretty good scalps on his resume.

I can’t decide if this is my FOTY or Hominick-Jabouin. It was a great fight. Although it being in the ring really upsets me. The fact that a guy can just roll out of the ropes to get a breather when he is on the verge of being stopped is terrible.

Definately great fight though. I’d like to Santiago fight someone like Kennedy or Lawler, because the UFC is still probably out of the question.
