The KJ Noons situation is an example why Zuffa never stripped Couture of the belt. Once a company does this, the fighter has massive leverage to say he is no longer with the company no matter how many fights are left on his contract.

How does a company stripping someone of a title mean that fighter is no longer with them?
While the UFC and co. have clauses that say champion’s contracts automatically extend, if Noons was under an original contact that had fights left, stripping the title is irrelevent.
If Forrest failed a drugs test and the UFC stripped him, does that mean his contract is over and he is no longer ‘with’ the UFC?
Sean Sherk was stripped of his title, but he was still under contract to the UFC. Did Noons’ contract specifically state that he had two more fights as long as he was champion, but if he somehow lost the belt, his contract would become void? Because that seems like a dumb idea to make if you’re writing a contract.

lol whut? If there’s still some version of EXC on CBS a year from now, I half imagine people pretending it never existed.
Now apparently Benji Radach has said that he knows nothing about any KO bonuses from Elite, despite Lappen saying they are a regular feature in his fighter’s contracts.
BTW, its interesting to see Meltzer talking about Ishii going to MMA being a total game changer for the sport in Japan. If he brings the kind of ratings he’s talking about, DREAM, Sengoku, or whomever their spiritual successor is will be more than back in business.
So would they put Ishii against Fedor in his first fight? If he loses would that be the end of Ishii as a draw?
Ishii’s not doing MMA… this is not a story right now.
Since when has japan cared about a fighter losing? A lot of the bigger japanese names have TERRIBLE records. I’m just confused as all hell as to if Ishii is gonna be in MMA or not. 50% say yes on NYE, 50% say no way for a while. I’m betting this uncertainty means he’ll be there on NYE.

Answer: A concept that was trashy, repetitive, and out-of-date in 1999. In 2008, it’s just pathetic. Like a lot of people, I choose to watch The Ultimate Fighter because I enjoy MMA. I don’t enjoy the obsolete 1990s reality show concept of “get a bunch of drunkards in a house, get them wasted, and film the ensuing chaos.” I can’t believe I missed the season premiere of South Park for that garbage.
