  1. Razzle says:

He went out doing his thing, that’s the most anyone can hope for in this life.

  2. Jonathan says:

Shed no tears for Evan Tanner. He did what he did in life and I bet you a million bucks that while he probably regretted a few decisions in his life, he would not have taken any of it back. He was a man who did what he did knowing what the consequences could be, and I think that is how he chose to live his life. He will be missed, and he certainly was one of MMA’s most eclectic personalities and eccentrics, and the MMA world is a little less random right now.

    RIP Evan Tanner

  3. Chuck says:

RIP Tanner. I was always a fan of his. I didn;t read in full, but did he die of malnutrition or dehydration or something?

  4. Mr. Roadblock says:

Evan was a unique individual and the true definition of a fighter. He battled back from situations that would have stopped a lesser man.

As an avid outdoorsman myself and one who has been seriously wounded in the wild, I believe Evan left the world in a good way. Obviously he didn’t want to die of heat exposure and I’m sure he fought it all he could. But I’d also bet that if you asked him how he wanted to go he’d have said in the wild or on an adventure. I know that is how I want to pass one day. RIP.

  5. CapnHulk says:

    It’s a shame, really.

  6. Zack says:

Tanner was one of my favs. I was there when he smashed Terrell @ 51. He was the underdog on the books and my friends and I all made $$$. He crashed his boat about 2 miles from my old apt and I rode my bike down to take a pic in front of it.

He was an eccentric guy whose story won’t be matched. From learned to wrestle later in life and training via video tapes, to the pancrase styled rules of those old TX shows, to his up and down UFC career.

    RIP Evan Tanner

  7. Danny says:

RIP Mr. Grizzly. Props to everyone here showing the respect he deserves. Been a fan for a long time and he will be missed. He’s crazy ass wouldn’t have wanted it any other way:P A true warrior at heart.
