Quote of the Day – Elite XC
By Zach Arnold | August 18, 2008

Steve Sievert at MMA Junkie recently interviewed Pro Elite CEO Chuck Champion:
“We look at October as a critical step in our development,” ProElite CEO Chuck Champion told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). “We’re approaching it that way. We’re not betting the ranch on the thing, so I don’t want you to think we’re just pushing ‘all in,’ using another analogy. But, with each one of these … if you do them well, they create momentum, and if you don’t do them well, they stall momentum. A young company needs a lot of momentum.”

What kind of parents name their kid “chuck champion”? Thats a name a six year old would come up for a comic book character.
Over/Under on him having changed his name?
I’m afraid it doesn’t look good for Elite XC. I wonder what they’re going to come up with for their next CBS show. Hopefully they can pull through, its sad to see good people lose their jobs.
At the end of the article it suggests Kimbo vs Ken Shamrock… if that is their biggest draw, they are going bankrupt, which would NOT make me happy. Thanks.
Kimbo vs Ken Shamrock?
Catchweight?

This literally made me LOL
Dave, I don’t know which way I’d bet. If he changed his name to Chuck Champion he’s probably a dangerous, delusional mental case…if that name is his parent’s fault, then I just feel sorry for him.
Ken Shamrock/Kimbo Slice is a perfectly good fight for what they should be doing with Kimbo, and frankly, it would probably do a decent job of drawing (especially if you tied in a fake retirement thing for Ken).
That would be incredible. Imagine Shamrock all “I will retire if that bum Kimbo beats me!”
