Quote of the Day – Steve Cofield

By Zach Arnold | August 7, 2008

Print Friendly and PDF

How Yahoo Sports MMA editor and Masshead Dave Doyle allowed this to be written, I’ll never know:

It’s matinee idol Roger Huerta against investment banker Kenny Florian at UFC 87. With good looks and smarts, Huerta is everything that Boston hates, a winner.

  1. Ultimo Santa says:

Anyone who goes to Yahoo Sports MMA for information of any kind is an idiot, so I doubt anyone intelligent will take this seriously.

With the stuff I read daily on Fox News and CNN nothing surprises me anyone.

  2. Fightlinker says:

I don’t think the blog section is edited by anyone. Steve likes saying stuff to rile people up. I like it, but i might be biased

  3. Dr J says:

Boston hates winners? Funny, he must not realize all we have here in Boston nowadays are winners.

Unless he doesn’t watch the NBA, MLB, NFL, etc… And unless he doesn’t consider Kenny Florian a winner as well.

  4. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

    Sounds like a Yankees fan.

  5. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

Heck, on Wednesday even the Revs won Superliga (beat three of the four most recent Mexican league champions and the two time defending MLS Cup champs Houston to win it too).

I was there, it was great, and they’re not done for the year either.

  7. samolama says:

    Yahoo MMA is hack-central…

  8. Chris says:

Is any one really surprised? This is the same Yahoo Sports that all but ignored the pitfalls of the new licensing agreement that Zuffa wanted to have all their fighters sign.

Credible journalism is not high on their list of priorities.

  9. Mike says:

Maybe Doyle just doesn’t feel compelled to stifle other people’s opinions if he disagrees with them. That would actually be the sign of a good editor.
