  1. Michaelthebox says:

Ha, Garcia basically tells Big John to take his mohawk theory and shove it.

  2. 45 Huddle says:

BJM is quickly becoming enemy #1 amongst the entire sport.

Tito Ortiz is going to be signing a “huge” Affliction contract. There is an article up at SI about it. The funniest quote is how Ortiz is saying that he is going to bring in 500,000 PPV Buys for Affliction.

  3. Kelvin says:

I agree 45 huddle…I LMAO when I read that he is going to bring in 500K PPV…Tito is done as a fighter.

  4. IceMuncher says:

I just read the whole article. 500k buys, ambassador at the forefront of the sport, getting respected as a businessman; all of it just sounds so out of touch with reality. He wants to be the biggest star, despite the fact that he’s a mediocre fighter. I can see why the UFC has problems dealing with him. Tito’s head is even bigger than his head.

  5. 45 Huddle says:

Tito seems to over value his worth. I have no doubt that to the casual fan he is one of the better known stars in the world. However, without the UFC hype machine behind, it is very unlikely that he can sell enough PPVs to make up for this huge contract. And let’s not forget something called public perception. Ortiz has not looked good in his previous few fights. In a way that will make Affliction look like the minor leagues who are getting the UFC rejects. At the end of the day I don’t think Affliction will be around for much longer.

  6. Donny says:

    lol

    u guys are kinda retarded

You guys forget that Tito vs Ken 3 was the highest rated MMA show ever on spike to this date?

You guys forget that Tito vs Chuck 2 is the highest selling non boxing PPV of All Times?

Get real, 500k buys is nothing for Tito

  7. Andrej says:

I wish Affliction would be smarter in who they spent money on. I’m Sorry But hyping Matt Lindland after his lackluster preformence aganist A fighter he should have Ko’d or Submitted is just plain wrong. Edwin Dewees is not worth 15,000, and Paul Buentello Albatross Contract is funny as hell.

  8. Pontus says:

    Really?

IF Tito is so sure that he will draw 500k ppv why not just promote himself ala De La Hoya.

  9. My main hang up with Ortiz is this.

I can’t think of a big money match-up that he has a chance of winning.

  10. D.Capitated says:

De La Hoya can afford to promote himself because he made 9 figures before leaving Arum. Tito Ortiz has probably not made 8 figures.

  11. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

I’m sure Affliction will set him up with a suitable can to get him back on the right track.

  12. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

I’m just wondering where they’re going to find a paraplegic who fights at 170 willing to fight up two weight classes.

Ok, that was kind of mean.

  13. Kelvin says:

    They might do Shamrock/Ortiz 4.

  14. Chuck says:

Wait a minute! What’s the “mohawk effect?”. I have never heard of this.

  15. The Gadget Link says:

Mr. Ortiz can finally prove to the world he’s a star without the UFC. In due time, the PPV numbers will determine whether he’s right or not.
