Not much news happening…

By Zach Arnold | May 6, 2008

Print Friendly and PDF

If anyone can find me an RSS feed for the articles Josh Gross writes on SI, I’ll add it to our page.

The one ‘interesting’ story of the day is Matt Lindland reportedly threatening to file a lawsuit against the ex-wife of politician Bob Packwood.

  1. Sports Illustrated: While the UFC dodges worry, EXC isn’t as lucky
  2. Charles Jay: UFC 86 – who is for real?
  3. Daily Star (UK): Chris Leben – caged fighter
  4. Canadian Press: Herschel Walker wants to put together an MMA stable to challenge UFC fighters
  5. 411 Mania: Drew “The Massacre” McFedries
  6. SI: Nick Diaz pulled off DREAM card
  7. The Sun (UK): Mandy Moore dating GSP?

  1. John Griffin says:

The feed should be here http://rss.cnn.com/rss/si_josh_gross.rss but they haven’t activated it yet.

  2. Kris says:

I’m looking for the SI.com MMA feed but haven’t had any luck so far, all I’m coming up with are ones for all sports even though they say they’re the MMA one. Will pass it along it I find one.

  3. Iain says:

This isn’t just a shameful plug, but I’m surprised you haven’t linked to Tommy’s two-part interview on our site with Enson Inoue and George Sotiropoulos. They both make for great reading and are some of the best things I’ve read MMA-related in a fair while.

  4. Kamander says:

Their feed is broken. I sent Josh/SI an email about it last week.

  5. Caleb says:

I came by to say that I too have been having problems finding Gross’ new feed. It’s funny to see so many MMA webmasters commenting here Zach!

  6. Royal says:

    Hershel, Hershel, Hershel.

UFC isn’t UPW and you can’t have Jesus Agular face some center from the Raiders that get winded the first minute of fighting.

Even if Art…I mean Greg Ahrens booked the damn thing with amatuers, it’ll end up like NFL vs. UPW but with a more difinitive win from the amatuers.

(btw, if anyone has a copy of Toughman: Football Players vs. Wrestlers, I’ll love you forever if you make me a copy)

  7. David says:

Not funny seeing MMA webmasters comment here; this is the best resource for MMA-related information.

Nick Diaz pulled from Dream 3, that is the final blow… I can’t take anymore abuse!

  8. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

If you’re all willing to tolerate a hack for the time being:

    http://mma.subbuteoclub.com/joshgross.pl

It’s a damn ugly perl script, but it does the job.

  9. Jeremy (not that Jeremy) says:

And, here’s one for all of their MMA stuff (two columnists plus MMAWeekly crossprints):

    http://mma.subbuteoclub.com/cnnmma.pl

  10. Grape Knee High says:

McFedries nickname is “The Massacre”? More like “The Mediocre”.

  11. IceMuncher says:

How late did you stay up coming up with that one?

  12. Grape Knee High says:

LOL, are you so dense that you never noticed that Zach’s timestamp is not accurate?

  13. IceMuncher says:

Uh, funny you should call me dense, considering my comment went flying way over your head. Timestamps had nothing to do with it. You see, when someone says a really lame joke, ie “nickname should be Mediocre not Massacre”, it’s common to jokingly respond with something like “How late did you stay up coming up with that one?” inferring that the other person was lying in bed late at night trying to think up witty jokes and… you know what, just forget about it.
