It’s never good when a company gives away its content for free (or with no advertising dollars attached).

  2. bundt says:

    It’s good for us.

  3. Zack says:

I don’t think its a terrible idea since HDnet isn’t in that many homes yet.

It is curious that they’re posting the vids on Youtube, and not the IFL site or the HDnet site though.

  4. IceMuncher says:

Not really. Youtube gets an absurd amount of traffic from people from all walks of life, whereas the IFL and HDNet sites have very little traffic that mostly consists of fans who watch their shows anyway.

  5. robnashville says:

they are appearing on youtube because the ifl worked out a contract to distribute some content through youtube…. some built-in adds have been programmed into the clips….. i was looking through some old ifl stuff last week researching for an article i did for bloodyelbow and ran across several that had the ads, seemed like some but not all had them.

  6. Zack says:

Well then….sounds like a solid plan.

  7. Dave2 says:

Huddle, I wouldn’t worry about the IFL putting their material up on Youtube. They need as much exposure as they can get. Besides youtube’s resolution is garbage. The window is so small and if you switch to full-screen, it’s so blocky and grainy because of the low res. I don’t think this is going to have an adverse effect on their ratings on HDNet or even future DVD sales. People can live with the quality of the video rips put up on torrents but Youtube is absolutely dreadful to watch for fighting.

Speak for yourself, buddy. I prefer the Godzilla-esque sound delay.
