Preview of Jeremy Lappen interview
By Zach Arnold | March 2, 2008

This Wednesday, we’ll have a new edition of Fight Opinion Radio online. Our special guests on the show include Oleg Taktarov and Elite XC’s Jeremy Lappen. We asked Lappen some tough questions during the interview, including questions about details regarding EXC’s deal with CBS. Lappen dismissed rumors that EXC’s deal with CBS was a ‘time buy’ (aka pay-for-play) and that the company will be receiving a rights fee for the show. We also asked Lappen some questions regarding production of EXC shows on CBS and where the company is headed in the next year.
On a related note in regards to the EXC/CBS deal, CBS Sports writer Gregg Doyel claims that CBS chose the wrong MMA company to back.

I do not understand the purpose of Mr. Doyel’s article. Good read, specifically the social implications like our ADD population but being a big MMA fan, even I get bored as all hell watching Heath Herring fight the black guy who sold out his last name to be Kongo.
After Zach’s analysis of the PRIDE purchase by the UFC and the shortcomings of Zuffa in dealing with the business transactions, I am led to believe that D-Dubya is going to make some fumbles in carrying the ball accross the globe.
Good quote from the article:
“But when Dana White speaks, I tend to listen.”
Translation: “I’m new around these parts and haven’t realized that most of what Dana says is bullshit.”
I have heard so many conflicting reports on the terms of the CBS deal. I would love to actually hear the details.
I would guess we won’t have any idea until the report for the second quarter comes out.
Speaking of which, when will the IFL and Elite XC release the fourth quarter reports for 07? We are in the third month of the first quarter for 08.
