Future PRIDE plans

By Zach Arnold | April 15, 2007

Print Friendly and PDF

Daily Sports has a report quoting Nobuhiko Takada about the upcoming Lightweight GP tournament. Takada is quoted as saying that it will begin on July 16th at Nagoya’s Rainbow Hall. Interestingly enough, he also claims that PRIDE 35 will take place in California this June.

In Nikkan Sports, Takada discusses a proposal to create a large PRIDE-themed museum (and gym) in Roppongi (Tokyo).

    “Nagoya’s Rainbow Hall”

    AHEM.

That’s NGK Insulator’s Hall now, fool.

  2. Royal B. says:

    Prepare The Altar of Sakakibara!

  3. David coolshaps says:

I love PRIDE and it’s staff. They love PRIDE too!

  4. Zurich says:

Uh, doesn’t Rainbow Hall hold ~15,000 people, whereas Saitama Super Arena holds ~40,000? So.. we wait 3 months for a lesser production? The DSE -> PFC WW transition can’t be going well.

  5. cutch says:

Bushido never sold out the Saitama Super Arena, so what makes you think they would attemp to sell it out using the same talent?

  6. white ninja says:

cutch – thats blasthemous to some people

the common accepted gospel of pride is that it regularly sold out 90,000 seat arenas and somehow got more than 35,000 into saitama super arena every time (except for the Sakakibara Matsuri last time, when they got under 20,000)

bushido is even more of a fantasy

  7. You mean with new management in charge, they’re going to scale down to something realistic? Wow, who would have imagined! 😉

I’m guessing you have no proof what so ever that proves that their numbers are incorrect, as usual.

  9. JThue says:

For crying out loud, people, July 16th was originally scheduled to be R2 of the GP, in NAGOYA, likely at the very same arena.

  10. Jarred says:

To stop everyone from arguing about what PRIDE draws at the Saitama Super Arena. The Arena can have MANY different variations to set-up the building. For bigger shows, they use the largets. For smaller ones like Bushido, they use a lesser set-up.
