UFC 69 weigh-ins
By Zach Arnold | April 6, 2007

I didn’t get everyone’s weight that was listed (video stalled part of the time), but here’s what I took down for notes:
Tickets still available for UFC 69. Rogan did the hard-sell both before and after the weigh-ins.
Josh Haynes – 171, Luke Cummo – 170
Marcus Davis – 169.5, Pete Spratt – 170.5
Thales Leites – 186, Pete Sell – 186
Brad Imes – ?? (missed it), Heath Herring – 245
Alan Belcher – 184, Kendall Grove – 185.5
Mike Swick – 184, Yushin Okami – 184
Josh Koscheck – 170.5, Diego Sanchez – 168.5
Matt Serra – 169.5, Georges St. Pierre – 169.5
The highlight/lowlight was Diego pushing Koscheck hard during the staredown and Diego yelling at him afterwards.
The crowd cheered for every fighter, no one got booed. Very peaceful crowd.

Imes was around 260, but don’t quote me on that.
I think we are going to have a night of upsets. Okami is going to beat Swick. Koscheck is going to beat Sanchez. And Serra will still lose, but give a much more competitive fight then anybody thought was possible.
I noticed the ticket thing as well. I think the last number I heard was that they sold 12,000. That was a while back. Capacity is around 18000. I imagine it will within 2-3000. Truth is, as we know, it isn’t the most compelling card. The UFC should be thankful for what they get and look forward to Manchester.
The gate is over $2.5 Million. Selling out venues for the UFC isn’t exactly the most important thing. A relatively strong attendance, along with high gate value, is what is the most meaningful in the end.
Okami is just barely an underdog at +105 odds…thats about as close as you get to even.
I took a bet on Spratt.

Please 45 – what has Matt Serra shown that gives any indication he’s not gonna get F@%^in SMOKED???
He has stand up that pales in comparison to GSP and his takedowns and strength are far lesser than Hughes – so whats gonna happen?? His only chance is on the ground and I don’t see it getting there.
How did Herring look for the weigh-in? He was a much leaner fighter in Pride, so I was kind of shocked by the way he looked for the O’Brien fight, and his performance reinforced my thoughts that he was out of shape.
Herring was leaner for this fight. He didn’t look ripped, but he wasn’t flabby like he was the for O’Brien fight.
Serra actually appeared to be in the best shape of is life. You could tell the most around the jaw line.
I was at the weigh-ins today and from where I was standing, Koshcheck got booed out of the place
So, Erin, does this make you love Diego more?
Oh yes, the Diego love is never ending. I am his biggest fan, you know.
I remember Bas saying once that fat black trunk Heath was much better than lean blue trunk Heath 🙂
Heath’s confidence lies in his wrestling shoes.
