Just from reading headline #1, how is it being called a “surprise birthday party” if there are press releases about it ahead of time? 🙂
Perhaps Tito can’t read? =)
As I usually don’t have the time (or the interest) to wade through absurdly long press releases, I’d be real happy if you guys could sum up the meaningful bits from stuff like IFL’s Warner deal. What options does it open up for the IFL? Is it big news, or was it expected? Is there reason to believe Warner will put some big money into MMA? etc, etc. I crave analysis!
What’s with this new trend of posting “this day’s” news pretty much yesterday then? :S Busy times? Competition?
When there is a fair amount of news links ready to go, it gets posted early. If there isn’t, then it’s delayed.
Is there a pro-wrestling’ish rule in Shooto concering maximum interval between title defenses, or are Ishida and Kawajiri just saying “screw this, we’re going fulltime PRIDE” in a nice way, kinda like TK did?
Yes, there is a limit. Ishida couldn’t fight before his because he got knocked out and suspended and Kawajiri couldn’t because of his finger.
The IFL cancelled their show in Lakeland, FL for April. Second show in a short while cancelled in FL. A very hard market to penetrate. And another bad showing of ticket sales for the IFL. Not a good sign.

According to the MMAWeekly rumors page for the IFL (http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/anmviewer.asp?a=3279&z=14), the event in question has been moved from Lakeland, Florida to Las Vegas, Nevada.
