Disgraceful re-writing of the UFC’s history yet again: “Going legit: White immediately instituted rules, including no groin attacks, no kneeing and no throwing an opponent out of the Octagon, that have allowed UFC bouts to be sanctioned in two dozen states, reviving its fortunes.”
Also, this line is odd given the fact that the UFC signed Sean Gannon in an admitted attempt to capitalize on the notoriety that he gained from an Internet fight video:
“Parents who fret about UFC’s delinquent influence have an ally in White. If kids who post fight videos ‘are trying to catch our eye, they’d be better off going to college, like most of our fighters,’ he says.”
The Beatdown show also said that it’s ‘confirmed’ that Alex E. will be fighting on the March bodog card as well.
Yeah…because the UFC would never sign anyone based on their internet infamy :::cough:: Sean Gannon :::cough:::
I would like to know what Frank Trigg, who holds a title in another org. and is only a commentator for Pride on an un-popular FSN show, would know about the internal workings of DSE. I mean why would Ed Fishman be spouting off to a commentator about these great plans for the future. Does Trigg own stock in DSE? How would he know about all of these 20+ percent offers which were turned down?
We have Dave Meltzer saying that Pride has approached some different companies, including the UFC and WWE, about buying the company.
We also have a Pride announcer saying that two companies approached Pride offering more than the company is worth.
I think I will take the word of a reporter that has a history of being accurate.
Who exactly owns DSE? Is it just a group of investors, how many? Does Sakibarara and Takeda own stake in the company? Who’s it’s biggest stakeholder?
That F4W article is one huge, steaming pile of shit.
It’s really nothing more than a very misinformed, fantasy opinion on mma=UFC than anything else. Basically its his retarded views on what should be picked from the “carcass” of PRIDE by the UFC.
Filho is Arona’s weaknesses magnified???? Ummm….he actually DOES FINISH FIGHTS.
And Cro Cop WILL NOT be coming to UFC unless he’s making some HUGE bank. He’d prolly go to K-1 unless UFC is willing to shell out big time cash for him to fight.
I wonder if the UFC will be willing to fork over the kind of cash he wants (GUARANTEED) b/c that would really skew their current payscale and I can’t see them wanting to sell out their bottom line.
Gaijin, leave Coughlin alone. He never claimed to be more than an editorial columnist. But I agree with you, I can see K-1 outbidding the UFC for Crocop’s services. And since K-1 is more international, I can see more crossover opportunities for him between Japan and the rest of the world.
JEFF: I’ll take that into account…I guess it’s his opinion, which he’s entitled to, though I’d have to say I disagree with a lot of it.
