  1. Royal B. says:

“Gering Police Chief Melvin Griggs said he supported the ban because the ultimate fighters used techniques, such as choke holds, that are dangerous. Choke holds are allowed in martial arts, he said, but they are considered to be a deadly force in law enforcement.

“We are teaching this to young people,” the police chief said.

The fighters, most of whom had little training, were also using arm bars, which are meant to break bones, Griggs said.”

What’s your point officer? Because grappling arts are straight to the point and brutal and not as pretty as what the guys in the TKD school do, it needs to be banned?

OK. Stop high school wrestling then. See where that gets ya.

  2. Mr. Roadblock says:

The techniques used in boxing and football are assault if applied in daily life. The way those Little League coaches are teaching kids to swing a bat could be used during a robbery or god forbid to kill someone. It’s about time we banned baseball. Melvin Griggs is a grade-A ass clown. These are the kind of narrow minded jerks who ban dodgeball.
