Newspaper: Hughes/GSP may not happen

Jose Rodriguez in the Calgary Sun reports that an announcement is expected tomorrow from Georges St. Pierre’s manager, Stephane Patry, as to whether or not the GSP vs. Matt Hughes fight (scheduled to take place on September 23rd at the Arrowhead Pond) will take place.
Update: It appears that BJ Penn will replace St. Pierre in the 9/23 fight against Hughes.

If GSP can’t go, I could easily see the UFC approaching Sanchez to take the fight. All I know is, if you sign to fight Hughes, bad things happen. Parisyan & now GSP… Hughes is like the grim reaper or something.
I really hope that Diego walks into this fight….for nothing else but to get beat down. For some reason, I just can’t stand Diego. He is just such, well, a dork. That comment to Joe Rogan; “You’re not going to call me a weird guy are you…” Or something like that.
No doubt. I want to see Diego lose anytime he steps into the cage.
I’d like to see Diego face BJ Penn first…Dont think he deserves a title shot yet…or a rematch w Karo.
But the question remains, who would the put for the next UFC if the main event is out?!?
Diego is a jackass… I asked him to take a picture of my kids and he tells me that he could not because EVERYONE ELSE will want him to stop and take pictures of him…. this was a week after he won TUF and was not in the fight card… he was just walking around… what a jerk!
First silva/chuck isn’t going to happen and now it’s most likely that this fight won’t either:(. Bummer. I’d probably though rather it not though if gsp isn’t healthy. If GSP has a 2nd loss to Hughes and the UFC keeps him around he’ll most likely have to wait for someone else to become champion for another shot. It would sure would suck for him knowning he went into the fight at 33% and then have to stay in limbo for awhile.
To follow up on what Victor says, I had a run-in with him at Jackson’s gym in Albuquerque. I was considering training there while I was in town for the summer and sat in on a class and everything. He was sitting off to the side so I approached him and just asked him how things worked at the gym a little bit more in-depth and he more or less told me to fuck off and ask somebody else.
i guess Bj Penn is now officially GSP’s replacement.
