    Wow!

    Just….

    Wow!

  2. Im still bummed that I won’t be able to watch this PPV, as I have DirecTV.

  3. FredEttish says:

Does this mean there is potentially going to be WFA events on Showtime in the future. If what Dana White says is true and HBO is interested in UFC events in the future, is Sho going to counter with WFA events? This might get interesting.

  4. Luke says:

This is VERY~! interesting. I wonder about the viability of MMA on premium channels. I’d like to see what kind of penetration they get. I know that boxing is very successful on both HBO and Showtime, but I think WFA could benefit from a tv deal with a basic cable outlet that has greater market penetration.

Its funny to watch the bidding war thats started over MMA programming. I never anticipated this in my wildest dreams. I’m going to sit back and enjoy this while it lasts, because all good things come to an end.

I spoke to a woman (Bianca) at DirecTV today. She confirmed that DirecTV is not carrying the WFA but she did say that if enough subscribers called or wrote in that it’s something they could consider carrying. That’s not “big news” but I’d like to see if MMA.tv, Sherdog, etc. could give a go of contacting DirecTV and seeing if the fans can get them to carry the PPV.
