DSE announced that Emelianenko Fedor is off the 7/1 Saitama Super Arena card, and that Vanderlei Silva will be taking his place in the 2nd round of the open-weight tournament.

As much as I enjoy watching Fedor fight, I think this is great news. It makes the open-weight tournament much more intriguing as it’s now much more difficult to pick a winner. It also makes it seem like a true open weight tournament with the light heavyweight champ in it.
Fedor should be healed up by the time it’s over and he’ll have a credible number 1 contender.
I’m with Sam. I loves me some Fedor but the OWGP is much more interesting wihtout him in it.
