UFC and SpikeTV extend TV Deal.
By Luke | March 22, 2006

The UFC and SpikeTV jointly announced today that they have agreed to a two year extension on their tv contract. The new deal includes three new seasons of “Ultimate Fighter” reality series, ten “Ultimate Fight Night” specials, and 26 more episodes of UFC “Unleashed”. The deal also makes SpikeTV the exclusive home of UFC programming.
I’m not sure if SpikeTV had exclusive rights in the current deal, but its included in the extension.
The curious part of the deal is that it includes three more seasons of Ultimate Fighter. The shelf life for a reality series tends to be short, I’m curious if TUF will lose any steam after this season. It’ll be interesting to watch and see how things play out.

Good stuff. I’m always down for more free MMA but the deal isn’t so long that if UFC starts to suck, Spike is stuck with them for too long.
I echo Erin’s thoughts as well. The more the better!
