Long-time South Korean correspondent (and good friend) Yeo Jong-Hoon reports that former WBA Super Featherwieght champion Choi Yong-Soo has signed a 3-year contract with K-1. A press conference will be held for this announcement on 2/11 at 2 PM South Korean time. The South Korean media is reporting that Yong-Soo will be paid 1 billion WON (100 million yen or around $1 million USD) over the three years of the deal.
K-1 had been trying to recruit Yong-Soo for a while, but only now did he accept. After he retired from boxing, he got into the boxing training/gym business and lost a lot of money. Yong-Soo does not have any kickboxing experience, as he is strictly a boxer. Yong-Soo has boxed against Japanese fighters in Japan in the past.
