UFC Plans California Debut

By Zach Arnold | January 17, 2006

Print Friendly and PDF

Alan Abrahamson in the Los Angeles Times reports on Tuesday that UFC will run an event in Anaheim, California on April 15th at the Arrowhead Pond arena (the same building used by the NHL team, the Anaheim Mighty Ducks). This confirms the initial rumors we discussed last week about UFC running Anaheim and not Los Angeles.

The real question most fans will be asking now is this… Why wasn’t this announced on Spike TV on Monday night as a big announcement?

The LA Times article also states that the Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie fight will be in Las Vegas.

  1. Wes Black says:

This is a much more significant announcement for the UFC than us getting to see Royce play koala bear on a bored Matt Hughes.
