Only in Japan can you announce no fights and still sell tickets like crazy. word is this thing has a huge buzz, but I have no clue what they will do other than JZ/Aoki.

only 14 fighters being named for the GP is curious. makes me think that want to seed Gomi into round 2 if he beats Ludwig. his deal is non-exclusive after all.

so its only going to be on TV for 2 hours?

  4. February 21st, 2008 at 8:54 am Ultimo_Santa Says:

Yeah, the 2-hour run time is curious. Also would love to catch it on PPV, but with the way Canada is handling things lately, I seriously doubt it.

Any word on rules? Soccer kicks would be sweeeeet. I need to see someone get stomped, STAT.

Watching Shogun in the UFC, unable to kick someone in the face while they’re down, is just wrong. It’s unnatural, and against the natural order of things.

network broadcasts are always edited to 2 hours. those shows run FOREVER.

I’m still shocked this thing got on the air…

These K-1 jackasses better get this on US tv with a quick turnaround. That’s one of my big problems with K-1…they just don’t seem to care about the U.S. market at all…

    One word: Internet :)

Or the U.S. market doesn’t care about it?

Sweeeeeeeeeet! Putting it in the calendar…

  12. February 21st, 2008 at 4:04 pm PizzaChef Says:

If you guys saw the pictures of the press conference, you would know that this was going to be on TBS from the get go cause of the TBS logo. Now, I hope they seriously get a PPV contract. If not, have a commercial free unedited special just like they did with the last HERO’s.

  13. February 21st, 2008 at 4:05 pm Zurich Says:

Where can you watch these on the net?

  14. February 22nd, 2008 at 5:00 am Brandt Says:

I wonder if I can stream it from my Onkyo HD receiever over to the computer for a live feed if its on HDNet? Any A/V nerds out there. I’ll be really fair and only charge $44.95.

  15. February 22nd, 2008 at 6:50 am Dave2 Says:

If it’s not going to be aired in the US, there’s always torrents.
