  1. Tomer says:

    My prediction:

Fres Oquendo by rabbit punch (T)KO (or Holyfield by DQ due to excessive rabbit punches)

  2. MMA T-Shirts says:

Is Fres Oquendo a someone or a nobody? I’m not really in touch with boxing any more. Either way, what is this the equivalent of in MMA? Like Bas in a couple more years vs Ruben Villareal?

Man it would suck to have to pay $45 to see that!

  3. Mr. Roadblock says:

I don’t know who is crazier Holyfield or the execs who decided to put this on PPV.

Fres Oquendo is a decent to slightly less than very good fighter. He doesn’t have much KO power but he should be fast and accurate enough to pummel Holyfield who has no defensive abilites at this point.

This is the MMA equivalent of Dan Severn vs Justin Eilers.

  4. Chuck says:

Yeah, Fres should beat Holyfield pretty handily.

  5. Chuck says:

Sorry, forgot to mention. The Nielson rating seems like it sucks (it kind of does) but most shows on Fox Sports do rerally poorly. Trust me, that rating is decent for Fox Sports. I am not trying to spin things, but that rating is better than most shows on that network.

And yeah, that fight on ppv is a fucking crime.

  6. Ivan Trembow says:

Hooray for fighters with cumulative brain damage being allowed to fight! (sarcasm intended) Also, 0.7 is a very good rating for FSN, but I don’t think that justifies putting Holyfield into the ring. He had a great career and is sadly still thinking that he’s going to win not one, but all, of the heavyweight title belts.

  7. Ivan Trembow says:

Also, Fres Oquendo is a decent heavyweight. He lost a corrupt decision to Chris Byrd a while back (in 2004, I believe) in one of the most blatantly fraudulent decisions I’ve ever seen in boxing.

  8. Mr.Roadblock says:

Oquendo was also screwed against John Ruiz. In one of the most boring fights ever Ruiz threw a couple combos in the 11th round and the ref jumped in and stopped it. Oquendo appeared to be in no danger. One of Ruiz’s many shady defenses.
