Tuesday, October 21st, 2008Icon Sport promoter TJ Thompson, whose company was bought out by Elite XC, took Elite XC management to task in an interview with MMA Weekly on Tuesday. Thompson claimed in the interview that he was told by some people in the MMA business at Elite XC’s October 4th event in Sunrise, Florida that Seth Petruzelli was paid to stand-up against Kimbo Slice.

Enson Inoue arrested in Japan for possession of marijuana
Monday, October 20th, 2008According to popular Japanese news wire outlet Jiji, 41-year old MMA veteran Enson Inoue was arrested in Saitama on charges of possessing marijuana. According to the media report, Inoue admitted he had pot and inhaled three or four times in a month. Possession of marijuana in Japan is a serious offense, and several key Japanese MMA stars have been targets of recent attempted police raids in an attempt to crack down on marijuana usage in Japan.

Dave Meltzer claims that the ‘stand-up scandal’ involving Seth Petruzelli and Kimbo Slice concerned CBS and that CBS will not buy Elite XC.
