Just a heads up, but the Shelly Finkel link is the same as the one to TheSweetScience’s interview with Diego.
Here’s the link to the Shelly Finkel interview for those interested:

Edit — just fixed the link. Thanks.
Here is a list of confirmed WFA fighters in the UFC…. From Dana White’s mouth:
Quinton Jackson
Heath Herring
Urijah Faber
Rob McCullough
Jason Miller
Ivan Salaverry
All of a sudden, the UFC has declared an all out war on the rest of the MMA world. They are looking for world dominance.
The audio interview with Dana White that MMA Critic alluded to:

(look on the right side of the page)
Did he mention Jason Miller? I did not catch that.
He didn’t mention Miller.
Faber and Razor Rob in TUF 5?
Would love to see Faber in TUF but they may just stick to rookies and Faber is far from a rookie.
Man, I usually have a soft spot for K-1’s brand of freak show fights, but even those are snoozers on this upcoming card.
Oh, Pride annouced Minowa vs Tamura for NYE, should be fun, and a big draw for the Japanese fans.
Andy Ologun proved to be no slouch in the ring in his first outing, but man, when will K-1 tire of these freak matchups?
Think of the talent pool at their fingertips… Yamamoto kid, genki sudo, JZ, uno kaoru, tokoro, royler, rani, they could put on a stellar card… and we are stuck with akebono and bobby ologuns brother. Sheesh.
It’s one of the worst, if not the worst, NYE card ever booked. It’s bad. Real bad.
I just expected the quality matches to be good, and the freak shows to be, well, worse. I say they keep the Saku/Aikiyama, the Masato match, and the Yamamoto match, but scrap the rest and go with this:
Akira Maeda vs. Giant Silva
Yuji Nagata vs. “Tiger Mask†Satoru Sayama
Hideo Tokoro vs. Genki Sudo
Andy Ologun vs Bobby Ologun
Ken Kaneko vs Joe Rogan
I’d also like to see Fujita do that standing choke on another boxer. If they could put all that together, I’d watch.
Surprised that they didn’t mention Lyoto considering his credentials….Plus I wanna see what he can do.
Concerning Art Dore.
He’s got posters all over the place over here in Bay City. He’s got a MMA event this Friday. Calling it “Jiu-Jitsu Martial Arts Caged Combat.” Then he’s got a Toughman event Saturday.
What’s really fustrating is that Ole Torson is advertised for both shows. Both. Shows.
Excuse my quebequiot, but Art Dore fucking sucks.
“Would love to see Faber in TUF but they may just stick to rookies and Faber is far from a rookie.”
Didn’t they say that the LW’s were going to be a combo of rookies and vets?
Zach, what have you heard about Mirko vs Jake O’Brien at the Super Bowl Saturday card in Vegas? That’s the rumor that’s flying around right now. The source is Tom Erikson.
Just to follow up, here are comments (with the original URLs) from Tom Erikson concerning the Mirko-to-the-UFC rumor:
“Nothing is for sure until they step in the ring as far as I am concerned. I will say this, that I have taken several calls concerning someone I know very well possibly being Cro Cop’s first oppenant in February in the UFC. Will this happen I do not know but I truly believe it is being discussed. You will know more when I know more.” from http://forum.garygoodridge.com/viewtopic.php?t=862
“What I am about to say is all hypothetical and is based on my knowledge of fighting organizations. Point 1. Fighting is about entertainment and the way to draw people in is to give them the biggest and best entertainment you can one way to do that is get one of the best in the business to be the headliner of your show. Point 2. You have a big stable of fighters under contract for a limited number of fights, you do this to see who has the ability to be your next star. If one of these fighters shows a lack luster performance in his last fight fight you have to evaluate what to do with him. Point 3. You take your new Superstar and match him up with an up an comer you do not believe is quit what you thought he was and let the new Superstar smash him up. What has happened is simple you have proven your Superstar is worth every penny and that the up and comer is not ready and at the same time fulfilled his contract. You look good as an organization because you now have the biggest and best fighting for you and have eliminated some of the underlings you may feel you made a mistake on. Just my thoughts.”

There would be NO POINT of TUF 5 if they allowed Faber and McCollough to participate. Those boys are DANGEROUS.
Showcase them as legitimate contender?
Faber would roll through a cast of tuf fighters even if he had to fight one of them every week and eliminate them all by himself
