Their web site is here. Their debut event is on June 14th at the Sears Centre in the Chicago area. Matches announced for the debut show include:
- Jeff Monson vs. Mike Russow
- Terry Martin vs. Daiju Takase

Russow V Monson is kind of interesting. russow looked pretty sharp V sergi and Zentov. Lots of power in his takedowns, lets see how his submission defense has come along
Zach, any reports of DREAM.2’s tv rating?
I’m looking forward to seeing what Russow does. He was impressive against Zentsov, so he could definitely put himself on the map with a win.

Oh, and about Timbo’s “huge news”: Yeah, it actually was pretty huge. Here are the brass tacks:
— Tim Sylvia has left the UFC in a “mutual separation” and is officially a free agent.
Ouch, is that really the headliner? I don’t think Adrenaline MMA is going to last too long if the first announced bouts will be representative of the kinds of shows they will be holding.
I guess unfortunately for them, there really aren’t that many unsigned, marquee fighters out there right now.
Could be interesting for hardcore fans, though, for as long as it manages to survive.
That’s not a barn burner card for PPV, but locally marked that’s a solid card and they should make good money on the show.
This is more of a strong regional show (which PS is where the real money outside of UFC is) than a national TV or PPV product. I wouldn’t count Monte out just yet.
I doubt it’ll be PPV. Monte said even if they had Fedor the first couple cards wouldn’t be PPV cuz they would need to build guys.
We’ll see what happens, but I don’t foresee this promotion taking off. I don’t know what they can offer to the fans that the other promotions don’t already give us. EliteXC, WEC and most of all the UFC are established promotions, with better rosters and more compelling match-ups. How can you go against that without offering something radically better?
And by radically better, do you mean a cage with sloping sides?! 🙂

To be honest, I can’t think of anything a promotion could do that would be better than what the UFC offers. They do so many things right that I can’t see where Adrenaline could make up lost ground. EliteXC becoming the first promotion on network TV is probably as good as it gets, and it’s doubtful that much will come from that.
EliteXC will be something like the 4th promotion on network TV. Unless I’m misunderstanding, they will be the first with a live event though.
With cable penetration being what it is in this country, I’m not sure how much that means anymore. The broadcast networks have cachet because they are known for having new original programming on a regular basis, not because they have wider distribution at this point.

I know something another promotion can do that UFC doesn’t do. Tag team matches. Why not? And how about a battle royale? A battle royale might be a total clusterfuck, and tag matches might be “boring” strategic fights where guys would tag out every 20 seconds, but why not try it out? I know IFL is going to start using a six-sided ring (TNA! TNA!) with five ring ropes soon, so there you go.
That’s gold, Chuck! You should be more careful though. We don’t want to be giving these ideas away for free.
