Tonya Harding and Butterbean on the same card
By Zach Arnold | January 7, 2008

Seriously. January 26th at the USA Mitchell Center in Mobile, Alabama. Isn’t Mississippi’s athletic commission in charge of regulating some (if not all) MMA events in Alabama?
Butterbean vs. Tom Howard is the show’s main event. Plus, Butterbean’s son will be fighting on the undercard.

re: ‘Reviving Mirko Cro-op’, I think the author meant LEFT head kick, not RIGHT head kick (Mirko is southpaw and 95% of his kicks are left kicks).

I echo what Zurich stated. One would think that if an authority would put so much thought into slagging one of the top fighters in the world, he would atleast know what the fighter brought to the table. I suggest that the author actually view a few fights of his next subject before he comments on that fighter.
re: ‘Reviving Mirko Cro-op’
it’s unfortunate how everything must revolve around getting the attention of casual fans and not necessarily keeping happy those who have been following the sport for years. i always thought the best way is to get the hardcore fans motivated to bring their friends, that’s how i got into this stuff.

right is hospital, left is cemetary
That new writer you got is pretty bad man.
I’m sure it was a harmless mistake, but a glaring one nonetheless. I think it is just a symptom of the glut of MMA bloggers of whom many are newer fans from 2006 and on.
There seem to be very, very few bloggers — Zach being one notable exception — who are not newer fans to the sport.
Funny how quickly all of us noticed and then went to the nearest thread with “comments on” to post a correction.
We need lives, that being said, it’s a pretty glaring error.
Regarding the news bit at hand: Has Butterbean’s son (“The Bean”) had any more fights since that first one where he got knocked out?
Not that I know of, but I do know that Butterbean himself was recently TKO’d on some minor card in Edmonton, AB by a guy with a 1-0 pro record.
Who the hell is running the event?
THE FIGHT IS OFF TONYA HARDING WANTED TOO MUCH MONEY!
