UFC ace Quinton “Rampage” Jackson comments on getting 3 years probation
By Zach Arnold | January 9, 2010

Comments courtesy of video from The Orange County Register:
“I’m confident I’ll never see [that judge] in that courtroom again.”
“I didn’t know that the police was chasing me, you know, I didn’t think that my truck had my picture on the side.”
“People kind of thought that I did it on purpose and you know you see cases on TV people act like they’re crazy so they get off cases, anything could have happened. I was thinking about that in the beginning you know but I tried to stay positive and not worry about anything. Everything came through and I’m still on three years probation and you know like I said in the beginning, I said whatever they give me because you know I was wrong for what I did but you know I didn’t want to be like… I didn’t want to go to prison and stuff like that.”
“That’s the most depressed I’ve ever been in my life. It’s so unhealthy to be depressed. No matter what happens like anything, people that wrong you or anything that makes people depressed it’s not worth it to stay in that state of mind so if anything you can do to snap you out of that state of mind, anything you can do just try to do it and concentrate on something positive.”
“I could have really hurt somebody and hurt myself as well.”
“I have kids to look out for and I do want to be a positive role model.”

I am sure Rampage is being sincere and believes what he is saying. However, I am not so sure about his ability to live up to those words.
Rampage can talk the talk the talk about staying on the straight and narrow, only time will tell if he can walk the walk. My biggest concern is that, living in LA and being a favorite target of the paparazzi, he has zero margin for error. Any time he slips up, someone will catch it camera and publish it.
Good luck Quinton. I have a feeling you’ll be needing it.
Hindsight is 20/20.
Did someone paint it on there when he was stopped at a red light?
Fighting Rashad will help Rampage stay out of trouble
Hey Zach! Will you be writing a blog post about the reincarnated Monday Night wars with WWE & TNA?
How will this affect future PPV buy rate with MMA? After all, a sizable chunk of MMA fans, we’re once pro-wrassling fans or still avid fans of WWE inspired sports entertainment. Plus, they’re very similar demographic wise.
Please post that on sportsentertainmentopinion.com
TNA did a 1.5 which is only slightly higher than their usual 1.2, and despite a great word-of-mouth response to the show the Thursday replay only did a 0.9.
Raw did a 3.6 which is nothing special for them and pretty disappointing given Bret Hart’s return to WWE after 12 years. And that’s the debut so I can’t see subsequent shows doing any better (plus it wasn’t very good.)
I think it is safe to say MMA is safe.
As long as they only do the fake caveman-freakshow thing MMA will always be safe.
Remember one are athletes fighting for their lives, literally – the other are entainers destroying their own health for giving hillbillies and other ppl that refuse to grow up wet dreams.
OMG WRESTLING ISN’T REAL?! SOMEBODY CONTACT BRIAN WILLIAMS!!!!
And I’m sure most of those hillbillies can spell “entertainer”. (sorry, but you just can’t resist the lulz of someone calling someone else stupid while making such a blatant spelling error.)
Get back in UFC and fight Rashad. That will help Rampage concentrate and win his fans back for this long awaited fight.
