One “MMA event” I won’t be attending any time soon

By Zach Arnold | April 18, 2009

So You Wanna Fight.

Now Divisions for So You Wanna Fight In “Boxing” & “Mixed Martial Arts”, No Pros – Just Average Joes – That Can Fight

Naturally, these events are taking place on Indian casino land in the States. Does anyone watch this promotion? Well… they have had full houses every time they’ve ran at Cher-Ae Heights…

Is this the MMA equivalent of Toughman?

  2. Royal B. says:

This has got ADoreable fingerprints all over it. Any idea who the promoter is? See if I can run it by some people.

  3. jmechanic says:

I’ve seen this before…but I didnt know they had MMA.

That really seems like a recipe for disaster.

Wasnt this promotion the one that had Ben Rothwell vs. the Morbidly Obese 500 pound amateur?

I’ve seen “So You Wanna Fight” years ago on syndicated PPVs. It was back when it was just “boxing” (I use the term loosely for this promotion). It is, by a few country miles, the absolute worst fight promotion that you can see that is not in someone’s backyard. I didn’t think it was possible for people of decent shape to be absolute awful fighters that wouldn’t be worthy of a back alley or bar, but this promotion proved that. For the Toughman comparisons…..I wouldn’t even taint the name of Toughman by comparing it to this crap.

    Royal,

Art Dore has nothing to do with this promotion, that much I can tell you. Unless you want to see a train crashing into an F22 and a steamboat at the same time, I would stay away from this fed. But a question, since when has So You Wanna Fight been doing MMA? They used to be only boxing, but I am not surprised they started doing MMA.
