You may recognize the name Joseph Benavidez because he was supposed to face Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto last July in the DREAM ring, but Yamamoto canceled due to claiming a knee injury. Benavidez is a highly-regarded prospect who trains with Urijah Faber in Sacramento.

‘Claiming’? Are we saying that Yamamoto is ducking a fight now?
I’m not trying to read too much into the statement, just clarifying.
Main card is solid. I love that WEC cards are on Wednesdays too.
I see this as more of a case of their being no athletic commission or extensive medicals required, therefore the only evidence we have of a knee injury is that it was “claimed”.
ya i noticed the whole “claiming” part too. It was confirmed he had ACL surgery, so it sounds like Zack has a bias against everything japanese now a days
I thought they announced Johnny Hendricks/Justin Haskins fight to be televised?
The card is pretty decent as far as quality of fight goes for TV. Undercard is a little mediocre even for WEC. I don’t see how Tapia beats Torres though.

I’m looking forward to this card very much. However, it’s a shame that it was demoted again from the 9:00 PM start time to the 8:00 PM start time. Couldn’t they see this coming with TUF airing at 10:00 PM? And if so, why on earth did they advertise a 9:00 PM start time for the 12/3 WEC show during the live broadcast of the 11/5 WEC show?
Zach, the editorial that you wrote on MMAMemories.com about the MMA media was excellent. You should link to that article in a post on FightOpinion instead of just having it be one of the sidebar links.
WEC 37 is a solid card, top to bottom. Some very good matchups even on the undercard, damn shame we only get 2 hours.
